Stewardship All Year Long
We have been in the official stewardship season for 2 weeks now. One of the things that we think is important to highlight is that 60% of all church members – and by this we mean any Episcopal Church in the U.S. – are “Patrons”.
Patrons believe that Church offers an important service. And this is very true. They further believe their financial gifts are related to the services they use or need from the Church. This is not a wrong way of looking at Church. Rather, it is one stop along all of our spiritual journeys.
One of the key pieces of our Stewardship this year is emphasizing that it really is a year long sharing of our gifts. The Church does not stop it’s work at one point in the year. Rather, it cares for the community all year long.
