The energy during the services these last couple of weeks has been evident. We have heard a lot of discussion around all the exciting things happening at Church this fall!
Sunday, September 7 marks the 'official' beginning of our Church year with the traditional Welcome Back Picnic. As always, we will provide the hotdogs and hamburgers. Thank you to many who have signed on to help set up, clean up, and provide sides or desserts.
It will be an eventful day! In addition to the picnic, there will be a Formation "Sneak a Peek" for children and adults, and we will have a Blue Grass Mass.
Building Momentum and Keeping It Up
For those of us who have had the opportunity to travel away from home this summer, it may be a bit of a fabulous shock to have so much excitement and energy all around you at Church. As we have said in earlier Checking-Ins, so many people gave extra time and energy developing all our programs during the summer. The result of their efforts is the positive responses all around us!
We have to remember that this is just the beginning of our year. Just like school starting up and everyone wanting new routines and activities to 'stick', we have to pace ourselves to maintain this energy toward our programming. There are lots of ways we can encourage this. However, the most important is to encourage involvement. How many of our mothers told us to 'try it, you might like it'? And, how often were they correct?
So we as your Vestry, are encouraging you to not just come to the picnic, but to become involved with one of the programs that you see information on. We are serving as greeters during each service and are available to listen to your interests and ideas. After all, it is by listening to as many of you as we could and meeting together frequently that we have developed this great start to our Church year. Welcome Back to Church!
