We have been communicating in various ways for the last year now to ensure that all Parishioners have the latest information in a format that works for them. We mainly communicate in 3 ways: Enews, Facebook, and the Website.
The good news is, our 3 main ways of communicating work very well for the majority of Parishioners.
How do we know this? The first way we know is that Parishioners have told us verbally or in writing. The other way is through ‘the numbers’. The Vestry looked at the information produced by our internet based communications and we now have data to share with you.
Our Enews has a very high percentage of people who open them up and read them. Our numbers show around 50% open rate. The national average across organizations is around 30%. This is excellent!
Our Facebook page varies by week. We have a general post reach of between 300 and 500 people (this varies due to shares and outsiders who look at our page without automatic updates). Many people are engaged (click on a post) when there is a link to a website, frequently Advent’s website. Our community also loves when we post great news about our Parishioners, especially our children and youth. We get the most shares, engagement, and activity when we celebrate all the wonderful things we have to offer.
The website has remained very steady. Over 80% of people who look at it do so from a desktop computer and look at an average of 3 pages within the site. The top 3 pages looked at are the Home page, the Clergy page, and the Worship page. All other pages are looked at, but much more variably. You may have noticed a simplification of the website menu bar. We did this in order to match the pattern of exploring most people do when they look at our website.
As we stated earlier, most of our Parishioners have benefitted from the way we communicated this year. We hope to continue to meet needs and improve our work so we can grow in love and faith together!
We are so blessed as a community to have so many talented ‘techy type’ people who help our Parish with the important job of getting the word out about our Church fast, clearly, and in a way that works for us!
Yours in Christ,
George James (Rectors Warden)
