A Jazz Vespers to benefit St. James’ School in Philadelphia

On Saturday 2/22 at 4 pm a Jazz Vespers, under the direction of Wilson G. Somers, will be held at the Episcopal Church of the Advent as a benefit concert for St. James School in Philadelphia to honor Black History Month.  Head of School, David Kasievich and new Music Director Dr. Darryl Roland from St. James will participate. The combined choirs with members of Advent, Immanuel Highlands, Wilmington and St. James School as well as an array of some of the finest area jazz artists will fill the church with glorious tones.  The music of Duke Ellington, Billy Strayhorn and Music Director Wilson G. Somers combined with African-American Spirituals and the words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr will lift your souls, and fill your hearts with Praise to the Almighty. This program is a combined project with the non-profit Music with a Mission. A freewill offering will be collected to benefit St. James.
