Lenten Supper Series

Let's talk about sin, repentance, and the freedom of the children of God! What is sin? Is it merely the breaking of God-given rule? Is repentance simply the act of confession and seeking forgiveness? And what is the connection between sin and repentance with Christian understandings of spiritual freedom? Drawing on the Bible, Christian tradition, and the wisdom of the saints (including Augustine of Hippo and Ignatius of Loyola), we will explore what sin actually is and how repentance can lead us toward greater inner freedom and a deeper engagement with our calling as Christians. We will meet on four Wednesday evenings in the parish hall (March 12th & 26th, April 2nd & 9th). There will be no gathering on March 19th. We will begin each evening with a potluck dinner at 6 p.m., and the program will run from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Please bring a dish to share, and if you cannot stay for the programming, please feel free to come just for the potluck if you would like.
